Write One Page Per Day – 13/365 – January 13, 2018

Continued from January 12, 2018

It was positively freezing in the park, but we had come in January, so it only made sense that the weather would be cold so far north. The ice hanging from the trees and the blanket of snow covering fields that were only marked with the evidence of wildlife traveling through the area. It was breathtaking to see.

We spent the day in Yellowstone, trying our best to stay warm, but having an amazingly happy day nonetheless. We were all worn out by the time the day was coming to a close. I got us a room nearby and we spent the night by the hearth, enjoying the fire and the quiet time. The kids fell asleep on the sofa set in fron tof the fireplace while Elizabeth and I got some alone time in the master suite.

The over the next two days we spent most of our time in the car, first stopping in Missoula and then carrying on the next day to Weeksville. Traveling throug the valleys was astounding, I had never seen anything so large and magificent in my life. We arrived at the lodge just as snow started falling lightly. The woman at the front desk informed us that the storm was expected to be a ‘big one’ and we could be stuck in the lodge for a couple days if things went the way the weather service was talking.

Elizabeth took the key to the suite and left the lobby where I filled out the paperwork and made payment arrangments for our suddenly extended stay. When I finished I walked through the lobby and inspected the fireplace. There was another person sitting on the sofa.

“So you’ve found the note?” He said, looking up at me.

  1. There are some fascinating deadlines in this article but I don’t know if I see all of them middle to heart. There may be some validity but I’ll take hold opinion until I look into it further. Good article , thanks and we want more! Added to FeedBurner as nicely
